Not all leaders are born. They are made.
I have been navigating the wild world of management for 20 years. I have led complex multi disciplinary teams in the private and public sector in Japan, Quebec and British Columbia. I have held a number of management positions within the not for profit sector including SportMedBC, The Jewish Community Centre of Greater Vancouver, The Vancouver Park Board. For the BC Government I have overseen province wide teams. For more about key accomplishments and details you can check out my linkedin.
Throughout these 2 decades I have navigated complex issues and had to discover my own path forward. I have discovered that leadership is a journey and not a destination - that through deep self reflection and action we can all be the leaders we aspire to be. After 20 years in the public and not for profit sector the leadership problems are common. Miscommunication between leaders and their teams, feeling that you have to “do it all” and not admit when you need help. Struggling to figure out what is “right”.
The truth is that leadership is a muscle - we need to work at it for it to grow. Think of me as your personal trainer for your leadership - I am there to work with you, challenge you and help you focus on the areas in work that need more time attention and care.
